Sri Lanka’s ability to integrate more deeply with Asia’s expanding trade networks, supply chains and economic corridors will come under scrutiny at the Sri Lanka Economic & Investment Summit 2026, as the country seeks to attract investment and expand its participation in regional value chains.

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will hold the two-day summit on October 12 and 13 under the theme “Positioning Sri Lanka in a Changing Global Economy: Resilience, Reform, and the Future of Economic Policy.”

A key session on the second day will focus on “Linking Sri Lanka to Asia’s Growth Networks: Trade, Corridors, and Value Chains,” examining how the country can capitalise on Asia’s growing share of global economic activity and strengthen its connections with regional and international markets.

The session is particularly relevant as investment and production decisions across Asia are increasingly influenced by supply-chain resilience, connectivity and access to regional markets. For Sri Lanka, stronger integration could create opportunities in logistics, manufacturing, export services and other industries linked to international production networks.

The keynote address will be delivered by P.D. Singh, Chief Executive Officer, India and South Asia, Standard Chartered Bank.

He will join a panel comprising Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Chathuranga Abeysinghe; Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Akio Isomata; Toyota Lanka Chairman Masaaki Kawabata; and Maliban Biscuits Group Chief Executive Officer Ravi Jayawardena. The discussion will be moderated by Subhashini Abeysinghe, Research Director at Verité Research.

The session will examine what Sri Lanka needs to do to secure a stronger position in Asia’s growth networks, including improving trade connectivity, attracting investment and creating a business environment that allows local and international companies to participate more effectively in regional and global value chains.

It will also draw on the experience of companies and international institutions operating across Asia, particularly how businesses assess markets, establish supply chains and make investment decisions.

For Sri Lanka, the challenge is not simply to improve its access to Asian markets but to become a more competitive location within the production, logistics and investment networks linking the region. This will require stronger connectivity, appropriate investment policies, greater competitiveness and an environment capable of supporting innovation and internationally oriented businesses.

The summit is supported by Standard Chartered Bank Sri Lanka as Platinum Sponsor, VISA Worldwide (Pvt) Ltd. as Gold Sponsor and South Asia Gateway Terminals (Pvt) Ltd. as Bronze Sponsor. The Asian Development Bank is the Strategic Development Partner, while Dialog Telecommunications and Dialog Television are the Telecommunication and Television Partners respectively.

David Pieris Motor Company (Pvt) Ltd., Hemas Holdings PLC, Sunshine Holdings PLC and International Construction Consortium (Pvt) Ltd. are Session Sponsors. Hayleys Advantis Limited is the Official Logistics Partner, SriLankan Airlines the Official Airline, Shangri-La Colombo the Official Hospitality Partner and China Eastern Air Holding Co. Ltd. the Airline Partner.
