The Colombo Bourse closed in positive territory today, with the ASPI gaining 68 points to close at 21,766, while the S&P SL20 advanced 11 points to 6,077.

The market regained momentum as buying interest returned following the sustained sell-off witnessed over the past week, with investors taking advantage of attractive valuations across selected counters.

The recovery came despite lingering global uncertainties, while HNW investors remained active through negotiated crossings and retail participation stayed at average levels.

The main positive contributors to the ASPI were CCS, HAYC, DIAL, JKH, and RIL. Daily turnover stood at LKR 2.0Bn, which is broadly on par with the monthly average.

Banking sector led the daily turnover with a share of 37%, followed by the Capital Goods, and Food Beverage & Tobacco sectors collectively contributing 35%. Foreign investors remained net sellers, posting a net outflow of LKR 673.1Mn.
